From New York Times bestselling author, J. Daniels, comes a sexy new STANDALONE novel that does NOT need to be read in conjunction with any other book.
Everyone knows Brooke Wicks loves to have a good time.
She’s not interested in getting serious, settling down, or limiting herself to one man. So when she meets the sexy, irresistible Mason King, she sees another opportunity to let loose and go wild. But the gorgeous Aussie isn’t interested in just a quick fling with Brooke, and if she wants to get into his bed, she’s going to have to do it on his terms.
Loving fast and hard has always been Mason’s philosophy.
He doesn’t want a meaningless connection, he wants it all, and he wants it with Brooke. When she makes her one desire known—to hit it and quit it—Mason wages a plan to ensure Brooke keeps coming back for more. Or so he hopes.
Getting her attention was the easy part. Keeping it might be damn near impossible.
Sweet Obsession is where the Sweet Addiction series meets the Alabama Summer series.

LOVED THIS BOOK! It was such a change up with the female being the player versus the guy and the author made it work. The writing between the two POV's flowed so well. You were with Brooke when she was showing attitude, being forward or even "sweet" as Mason liked to say. She's probably my favorite heroine in awhile and can't recall the last time I read a book this quickly, laughed out loud this much or fanned myself nonstop. And Mason, the Aussie? .... sigh- his accent came across loud and strong. "Yeah"!!! Loved each and every time he said this too. What a charming male character! He wanted to go slowly but did this make him weak? No Way! He was strong and had to be because she really tempted him in every way. While she may have come on strongly, he was definitely in the drivers seat a lot of the time.I highly recommend this book and now I'm going back to read the first two. I didn't read them first and it didn't effect my reading this one but there are characters from those books that are in this one. AND! Can't believe I almost left Billy and Joey out of my review. Joey would probably come after me if I did- those two were side characters that added SO much fun to this story. I'm sure we all wish we had friends like those two. Have I said how much I loved is book ?:)

Sweet Obsession Sweet Addiction edition by J Daniels Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
First off, this is the first book I have read by J. Daniels. I follow on many social media accounts, and all of the buzz surrounding this book got me to buy it. Yes, these do tie into other books she has written, but as someone who never read those (yet), it doesn't really matter. We see glimpses of other characters, but there is nothing in the book that would give the impression you need to read the others to understand this one.
Initially, Brooke really was annoying me. I,somewhat, admired her confidence, but at the same time, I felt she was a little too forward sometimes. It was just a bit off-putting for me. However, as the book goes along, we get to see more and more of the real Brooke, who she is when she isn't partially hidden. I liked that version of Brooke much better. Maybe part of the reason I didn't totally love Brooke in the beginning was because I actually aligned with her very much. So seeing her grow up, in a sense, was really enjoyable and I could also relate to that too. We don't just see Brooke grow in her relationship with Mason; she also grows up professionally and personally...for herself.
Mason was a little much for me at the beginning. I just thought he seemed a little cheesy. But as the story continues, we really see more of Mason and the great guy he is. (I think in the beginning of any book, some characters seem superficial or cheesy and that's because we are just meeting them, sometimes through another character's eyes.)
After that though...things really start getting good. I really loved seeing Mason and Brooke develop a relationship, and also have fun with each other (sexually and otherwise). I thought the author did a nice job moving the story along, while also adding actual time to their story. I also enjoyed that we see Brooke talking with her sister at one point about meeting "the one" and how sometimes you just know. I liked that the author included those pieces because it made some parts make more sense, especially in terms of speed of relationship.
Another aspect I liked was seeing Brooke's past come back into the picture, but in a very subtle way. I was curious how that would come back into things (I just knew it would at some point). I thought the author did this in a really great way, because it seemed like those things really could happen in real life. I appreciated she didn't make that piece of the story into more drama than it needed to be.
Overall, I would recommend this book. I ended up staying awake until 5am finishing it, and then I was left with a huge ball of emotions at the end (its not a sad ending or anything, just a lot of feels, lol). I can't wait to check out other books from this author because I know they will be just as good.
Brooke is very eccentric and eclectic at the start of this story. All she was interested in was getting the D.
Enters Mason who is a yoga instructor and Aussie hottie who moved to Chicago and bought a place right across from the bakery that Brooke is working to do his yoga classes.
Mason is not looking for a quick fling neither a roll in the hay. He is looking for forever which Brooke does not do. So how is this gonna work out??
I really love the elements that ms. Daniels has incorporated in this novel such as friendship, hard work and actual jobs for both main characters, not too much sex. I love how she focuses on the most important things in a relationship such as bonding, long drives, camping, talking and getting to know each other rather than just being together for sex.
A definite hit. And omg how can I forget joey!!! Mmmmhm he needs his own story now. Billy and him are burning up this planet with their off the charts chemistry!
Oh man! I absofreakinglutely LOVED this story! When I realized it was going to be Mason's (from the Alabama Summer series) story, I flipped out and devoured the rest of this series so I could get to his HEA. It was fast paced (but not rushed), funny, sexy, a bit dramatic, and uber-sweet.
I've never really been a big fan of Brooke, and I honestly still am not. Granted, I liked her more in this story than the previous ones. I liked reading how she changed from her playgirl ways, to wanting to be with just one guy. I've always liked the bad playboy stories, and she's just like them, but a chick, so win-win. I loved how she's so honest and up front about everything too.
What really stole the story for me was Mason. Sweet, charming, devoted, loving, caring, sexy, Aussie Mason. Everything that came out of his mouth was just perfect. It was sweet, dirty, sexy, witty, and oh so panty melting! I loved seeing him tread cautiously and be patient with Brooke until he won her over.
This was an excellent addition to the series (I'm hoping we'll get Joey's next!!)!
